Watford will surely be fearing a clear-out of their midfield this summer having seen them impress, especially in the first half of the Premier League season. Three of London’s big clubs are all considered frontrunners to sign Richarlison next, but at the moment it’s Chelsea at 4/1 (5.00) who are considered the slight favourites. The Blues have been linked on and off in the last few months with the Brazilian and he would certainly add a new energy to the Blues midfield, that could see some key departures in the summer should transfer gossip be believed.
Tottenham have been in the news in the last couple of days as the ‘emerging interested club’. In fact Spurs reportedly want two of Watford’s starring midfielders, Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure (according to the Watford Observer); so odds of 6/1 (7.00) for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to sign the Brazilian look pretty intriguing. Especially so if they can wrap up a combined transfer bid to fund a Watford rebuild, and at the same tempt one or both of the midfielders to play at the new White Hart Lane next season.
Arsenal are also backed at 6/1 (7.00) for the 20-year old - however it would be a question as to where he would fit in an already loaded attacking midfield line-up with the Gunners. If Arsene Wenger’s side are to compete with Spurs and Chelsea for his signature then they will almost certainly be relying on the ‘pulling power’ of Champions League football next season, and at the moment the best option looks to be via winning the Europa League.
It can’t be ruled out that eyes haven’t been caught from across the continent and bookmaker BetVictor suggests odds of any German, French or Spanish club at 12/1 (13.0) to sign the impressive youngster this summer. If interest is to come from abroad for Richarlison then it would likely have to come from clubs with the financial clout to compete with London trio, as well as Champions League football on-offer.
