Argentine star Nicolas Gaitan has reportedly turned down the chance to join bottom of the table Swansea City in this transfer window, that is despite his club Atletico Madrid agreeing to the deal. West Ham are also desperate for experience and quality having been riddled with injury and a move to London could be an appealing one for the Argentine who has only featured six times in La Liga this season, but boats an impressive CV including three Portuguese league championship winner medals.

Sam Allardyce has already signed quality this January with Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott the big name arrivals at Goodison Park. Nicolas Gaitan would undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the Toffees faithful - but there hasn’t been a lot of noise in the transfer gossip reports about such a move to Merseyside.

If no move to the Premier League materialises it could be a case of a return to South America with either Mexican side Monterrey or Argentine giants Boca Juniors, both backed with odds of 12/1 (13.0).
