Morgan Schneiderlin’s red card away in Lyon and absence from the matchday squad in Everton’s comeback victory at home to Watford has left a whole lot of doubts around the future of the French midfielder at Goodison Park. What Are The Odds looks at potential clubs interested in making a January transfer move for the former Manchester United man.

Bookmaker BetVictor are offering 4/1 (5.00) odds on any French side coming in for Schneiderlin, a move back to France would make a lot of sense for a player who has already played for Southampton, Man Utd and Everton in the Premier League - and for a player wanting to get back to his playing best a move back to his homeland could be just the ticket.
However, if Everton are ready to put Schneiderlin up for sale; with various reports including the BBC Football suggesting he was banished from training with the Toffees - there are likely to plenty of interested Premier League clubs who will know that this a player that can produce better and one with a lot of top flight experience under his belt.
Interestingly one the favourites to sign the Frenchman are Arsenal - Gunners fans may be scratching their heads on this one, but with odds of 6/1 (7.00) there apparently seems to be some momentum on Arsene Wenger wanting to bring one of his countrymen to the Emirates Stadium.
Also at 6/1 (7.00) are West Ham United and Newcastle United - this may change due to the appointment of David Moyes at the Hammers, but if it’s experience the new boss needs then Schneiderlin might just fit the bill.
Newcastle are another who are seeking more experience in the squad, although their main problem is a consistent goalscorer, there’s no doubt that Rafa Benitez will feel he could have brought in better in the summer transfer window and potentially the French midfielder would be a solid acquisition for a Magpies team looking to finish comfortably in the Premier League this season.
Tony Pulis may be a man under pressure at West Bromwich Albion with fans demanding more after a string of bad results - but if Pulis makes it to January he might also be interested in the availability of Morgan Schneiderlin, with the Baggies priced at 10/1 (11.0).
Crystal Palace are a bit of an outsider and a potential risky move should the Eagles still be floundering around the relegation zone come the opening of the transfer window. However, odds of 14/1 (15.0) may be ‘one to watch’ with the club having a recent track record of attracting calibre midfielders such as Wilfried Zaha, Yohan Cabaye and Andros Townsend to south London - Schneiderlin would likely fit perfectly into a system led by manager Roy Hodgson.
