With transfer talk in full-swing a report has suggested that West Ham have made an enquiry to buy Lucas Perez from Arsenal in the summer transfer window. So of course What Are The Odds looks at what could be next for the out-of-favour Spanish striker.
West Ham, according to the Metro newspaper, have made a formal enquiry for Perez, with a view to buy him in the summer, with the player reportedly wanting to move to get regular first team football. Ladbrokes are currently serving up odds of 7/4 (2.75) on the Hammers to be Perez’s next club, and as an added bonus just around a five mile journey to the London Stadium from the Emirates Stadium.
Don’t rule out Everton in this equation, odds of 4/1 (5.00) are short enough to suggest a move could happen, and with the future of Romelu Lukaku up in the air and Ronald Koeman’s side in need of another striker anyway, a move for Lucas Perez could be a natural fit.
With 24 goals in 58 appearances in La Liga, a move back to Deportivo is another one being tipped by Ladbrokes, who make him 3/1 (4.00) to head to Spain. However, it would seem unlikely given that Premier League club with European ambitions are interested.
West Brom who are 6/1 (7.00) and Stoke at 9/1 (10.0) are the other two clubs making up the interested Premier League section, and with both clubs having attracted big name players in the past seasons and top half league finishes all but guaranteed it would be hard to rule either out of the running at this point.
More attractive, yet less likely options for Lucas Perez would be Ligue 1 leaders Monaco at 10/1 (11.0), Inter Milan at 12/1 (13.0) and Roma at 16/1 (17.0).
