English striker Louis Moult is a man in-demand this summer and the Motherwell striker looks set to certainly have his pick of suitors. What Are The Odds looks at the odds from BetVictor that are indicating where the striker could end up when the transfer window closes.
With 18 goals in 34 appearances for Motherwell last season it’s no surprise to see potential Scottish Premier League title challengers Aberdeen and Rangers top of the queue for the striker. Derek McInnes, Aberdeen boss is a fan of Moult and according to The Scottish Sun, Motherwell will accept a bid from the Dons should they meet their £600k valuation.
Currently according to BetVictor, last season’s runners-up Aberdeen are priced at 2/1 (3.00), but face strong competition from Rangers who have been on a mass recruitment drive already this summer.
The Glasgow giants are 4/1 (5.00) to clinch the striker’s signature, however after being dumped out of Europe and doubts already surrounding the future of their manager’s capability to make the blue half of Glasgow competitive with Celtic it may be that Moult is leaning more towards a move to the upwardly mobile Aberdeen.
If Louis Moult fancies a return to England then Derby County are hot the Scottish clubs heels with odds of 5/1 (6.00) on-offer, while Leeds United are also in the hunt a little further back at 10/1 (11.0).
Frank de Boer’s Crystal Palace are even shorter priced than the Elland Road club at 8/1 (9.00), but it would quite the surprise move to see the former Ajax boss make a move for a player that might be considered unproven at Premier League level, a risky move for a new manager looking to make an impact.
Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City are likely to have a goalscorer like Moult on their radar and despite being an outside bet, odds of 20/1 (21.0) is potentially not a bad punt, especially if the Second City club decides to put feelers out to swoop amongst the strong favourites of Aberdeen and Rangers.
Newly-promoted Championship club Sheffield United are also in the market according to the bookmaker, albeit way back at 25/1 (26.0). A host of other clubs are also in the mix including Oxford United, Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City, but at this point it looks like the player is destined to move within Scotland.
