Mario Balotelli next club odds - Destination Wolverhampton for Italian

All indications suggest it’s only a matter of time until Mario Balotelli makes a seemingly inevitable dart for the Anfield exit this summer, with Wolverhampton Wanderers the shock frontrunners to snap up his services.

Sky Bet has the latest markets available on the outcast Italian and where he could line up next season, and What Are the Odds has broken down the options sitting in front of the player.

It’s well-founded that Wolverhampton Wanderers have money to spend this summer and under Walter Zenga have already flexed their new status as a Championship 'powerhouse' in the market. Odds of 5/4 (2.25) are incredibly short - yet represents great value for what is the biggest club 'mover in the market' in the last 24 hours.

Previous favourites Sampdoria are nowhere to be seen and are seemingly out of the running, despite a couple of weeks back being priced at evens (2.00).

There’s also the fact the Serie A side would have to spend a large chunk of their wage bill on the 25-year-old, and the Daily Star had reported he’s not ready to accept any substantial salary cut.

One Serie A outfit that is still in the running to sign Balotelli have been slipping amid interest from Wolves and Ajax in the last hours, but Chievo are hanging on in there and would offter the striker the most realistic prospect of moving back to Italy. Priced at 8/1 (9.00) this is definitely a club to watch closely, especially if Balotelli shoots down rumours of a move to the Championship. Suddenly Chievo would be right back as a proper option in the market.

Ajax are another big mover in the market, shooting up to second in the odds with a value of 7/1 (8.00) and on-paper look the 'bigger' club out of the three (no disrespect meant) favourites.

A move to Major League Soccer seems highly unlikely at 25/1 (26.0) given Balotelli’s reputation for pride, and he’s almost certainly going to want to restore his European reputation before leaving for the United States.

Despite all the speculation he’s 3/1 (4.00) to remain under Jurgen Klopp’s command at Liverpool past September 3rd.
