Aaron Cresswell next club odds: Premier League city rivals north and south among frontrunners

Tue, 19 December 2017, 20:17

West Ham United’s Aaron Cresswell is attracting the attention of a host of top Premier League clubs, that is according to the odds via BetVictor. What Are The Odds looks at Aaron Cresswell next club odds as the January transfer window is just around the corner.

The Hammers have seen a major upturn in fortunes, and a slow rise upwards rather than towards the relegation zone, and certain players who are now in form are seemingly attracting the attention of some of the bigger boys in the Premier League – perhaps looking to strengthen their own weaknesses or squad depth to kick on in the second half of the season.

Liverpool have been crying out for more quality at left-back for a couple of seasons, despite the efforts of James Milner and Alberto Moreno, and with odds of 4/1 (5.00), they are among the frontrunners to sign Aaron Cresswell before the transfer window closes. The 28-year old is now playing his prime years as a professional and the chance to make the step up to a Champions League club, especially just a few months before England select their squad for the World Cup could be too good to refuse for Cresswell.

With the table looking as it is right now, a move to Everton would look a bit like a sideways move at this point – no European football and unlikely to qualify for the Champions League this season; despite that they are joint frontrunners with city rivals Liverpool at 4/1 (5.00). Can Big Sam work his managerial persuasion to join the Toffees as they look likely to spend again in January to further their case that they are one of the next big forces in the Premier League.

Interestingly it’s Manchester City, table topping and unbeaten in the league this season, who are priced at 5/1 (6.00) to be Aaron Cresswell’s next club in the transfer window. Pep Guardiola appears to view defence as the area that needs strengthening in January, and with Fabien Delph filling in as an unorthodox left-back at times this season it may be that Pep targets the West Ham man.

North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both 8/1 (9.00) in the Aaron Cresswell’s next club odds market. West Ham would certainly be reluctant to sell to a direct city rival, especially at the halfway point in the season – but every player has a price.

It could be that David Moyes faces a potentially tricky January with the Hammers, not only in bringing in new players and continuing the upturn in form, but also avoiding selling one of the club’s key assets.
