William Hill: Bet £10 on the Tournament Winner get a £5 free bet every time they win a match
The highlight of the football calendar, the World Cup is just around the corner! Many bookmakers are offering World Cup-specific promotions, and one of our favourites is this promotion from William Hill. Bet £10, or £5 Each-Way, on a team to win the World Cup, and William Hill will reward you with a £5 free bet each time your selected team wins a match during the tournament.
This promotion is online only and available once. Your first Tournament Winner bet will count towards this promo. It applies to 90 minutes play only, so if your team wins in extra time or on penalties, you won’t receive a £5 free bet.
Your free bet(s) will be credited to your account by noon the day after your side has played. Any bets cashed out won’t count. You will need to use your free bet tokens within four days of receiving them.
Betfred: Top Tournament Goalscorer Offer
Following the World Cup theme, Betfred are also offering a tournament free bet promotion. Bet at least £20 on the Tournament Top Goalscorer market and you could receive a £5 free bet for every match in which they score.
To qualify for this offer, place £20 or £10 E/W on who you think will finish as World Cup 2018 Top Goalscorer. You will need to do this before 16:00 GMT 14/6/18. If you place more than one Top Goalscorer bet at the same time, the player with the shortest odds will count as your qualifying bet. If two or more players have the same odds, the player whose surname comes first alphabetically will count. If your player scores more than one goal in a game, you will still only receive one £5 free bet token.
Your free bet will be credited within 24 hours of your selection scoring. You must use your free bet within seven days of it being credited to your account.

For Croatia, Uruguay, Russia, Colombia, Poland or Mexico, you’ll get £5 and for all others you’ll get a free £6 bet each time they win. Terms and conditions apply, so check the small print before you bet.
We’ve looked at our favourite three free bet offers, but there are other attractive free bet promotions out there too. Let’s take a look at those that are worth your consideration. Remember, terms and conditions apply to all of the below offers, make sure you read the promotional t’s and c’s before you place your bets.

An important aspect of successful sports betting is to find bookmaker promotions that can offer you an increase in profit. Many bookmakers offer Enhanced Odds promos that give you the opportunity to maximise your potential profits.
So, how do Enhanced Odds offers work? Enhanced Odds involve lengthening the price on a specific event to happen in order to attract customers into taking the bet. Generally, these offers pay out in cash at the normal odds on site, with the enhanced part of the bet paid as free bets.
Enhanced Odds offers also come with a minimum and/or maximum stake. Depending on who you’re betting with, predominantly the maximum stake can vary from anywhere between £1 and £20. In the main, the bigger the enhancement, the smaller the maximum stake.
Let’s use an example. Let’s say that Ronnie O’Sullivan is playing a qualifier in the First Round of the snooker World Championship. The odds on an O’Sullivan win would be considerably shorter than those of his opponent. For ease, we’ll say that Ronnie is 1.10 (1/5) to go through. This is a prime opportunity for bookmakers to entice bettors by offering much longer odds on the O’Sullivan win. A bookie could offer 25/1 on Ronnie O’Sullivan to win, sounds much nicer than the previous odds!
However attractive this offer sounds there are, of course, terms and conditions to adhere to. Enhanced Odds offers like the example above usually come with a maximum stake condition of £1. Talking generally, if O’Sullivan does win, the bookmaker would pay you out as cash at the normal odds on site (so in this case, they’ll pay you out as cash at odds of 1.10) with the enhancement part paid in free bets. Essentially, successful Enhanced Odds bets will rarely increase your bankroll, but do give you the opportunity to make money of your free bets.
If the Enhanced Odds on O’Sullivan to win were increased to say 7/1, the maximum stake allowed tends to increase too. Again, though, most bookmakers will only pay the enhancement as a free bet.
Enhanced Odds offers tend to be available for just a few days, usually two to three days before the event takes place up to the start time. Once the start time has passed, the offer will be withdrawn. These offers may sound tempting, but it’s important you understand the sport or event a certain Enhanced Odds promo is offered on, and not just presume it’s a great deal. These kinds of offers tend to be New Customer sign up offers, meaning you’ll only be able to take advantage of one, with the same bookmaker, on one occasion. Therefore, it’s a good idea to only take advantage of an Enhanced Odds offer if you’re confident in your ability to judge its value.
Of course, increasing your knowledge is vital to your chances of being successful with your betting in general. Another point to think about is how much enhancement has actually been placed on odds. It’s always worth checking around for the best Enhanced Odds offered and if they’re worth taking. We’ll list the best offers here.
Betway are gaining popularity year on year, and it’s easy to see why. Offering a range of competitive odds across a variety of sports, Betway also offer a diverse selection of promotions for new and existing customers.
Betway currently offer a free bet opportunity for new customers. The Betway Get a Free Bet up to £30 is available to new customers residing in the UK or Ireland who have never opened a Betway account previously.
To claim this offer, create a Betway account and opt-in to the promotion. Within seven days of opening your account, you will need to make a deposit of at least £10 using a Credit/Debit card or through PayPal. Once you’ve made your deposit, Betway will match it 100% up to £30. This will be credited to your Free Bet Balance.
To activate your free bet, you need to ‘playthrough’ your deposit amount at least once. So, if you deposit the full £30, you will need to stake on bets up to that amount. There are odds requirements to your qualifying bets too. For Singles bets, these odds must be at least 1.75; for Each-Way the odds must be 1.40 or over and System bets odds must be a minimum of 1.40. Once you’ve met the t’s and c’s, your free bet will be moved to your Sports Account. You must use this within seven days of making your first deposit, after which time it will be removed.
It can be frustrating as an existing customer to find that your bookie is offering fantastic offers for new customers only. However, the best bookmakers ensure that there are plenty of great promotions for existing customers to take advantage of too.
When you’re looking for a new bookie, always check out the Promotions tab before you sign up - this way you get to see how many offers for existing customers are available on a regular basis, rather than just being enticed by a new customer bonus. Most top bookmakers offer a range of existing customer offers on a wide variety of sports.
In the UK, promotions tend to be focused on the most popular sports here like football, horse racing, cricket and rugby. However, there are many bookies offering bonus opportunities to their existing customers on American sports, Formula 1 and many more.
Let’s look at the best existing customer promotions available now.
Betting on goals markets and the game ending 0-0 is one of the most frustrating aspects of betting on football. Fortunately, there are one or two bookmakers who offer a Bore Draw promotion which can counter this. Bore Draw promos are available on certain markets and on selected games, usually resulting in your stake back if the match you’ve bet on ends goalless.
One such bookie is Dafabet. Place at least £1 pre-match on a Correct Score or Half-Time/Full-Time bet on selected matches and if the game ends goalless you’ll get your stake back, up to £50, as a free bet. As usual, t’s and c’s apply to this offer so make sure your read the requirements before you place your bet.
Betway Free Club Offer
One of our favourite offers at the moment is the Betway Free Bet Club. Available to both new and existing customers, bettors need to opt-in to this promotion and then place £25 worth of bets within a one week period - the Club runs from 00:00 Saturday to 23:59 Sunday each week. Place your qualifying bets and you’ll receive two free £5 bets.
A favourite with those who like to place accumulators, there are a number of online bookies who now offer ACCA Insurance. The terms and conditions to each ACCA Insurance offer vary from bookmaker to bookmaker. Essentially, though, these deals consist of returning your stake should one leg of your ACCA let you down.
So, let’s say you place a 5+ Fold accumulator on the Win-Draw-Win market. Four of your selections come in, but one game loses you your bet. As long as you’ve met the t’s and c’s of the offer, your bookmaker will refund you your stake.
Some bookmakers, such as Boylesports, offer a form of loyalty bonuses for those customers who place accumulators. Let’s take a closer look at the Boylesports All Sport ACCA Loyalty bonus.
Available to both new and existing customers, you need to opt-in to the promotion, which you can do via the Promotions tab after you’ve logged in to your account. For every five any sports combination accumulators you place, each with a minimum of five legs and of a stake of at least £5, Boylesports will reward you with a free £5 accumulator. Terms and conditions apply so make sure you read the fine print before you start betting.
Best Odds Guaranteed
Mainly offered on horse and greyhound racing, there are plenty of bookmakers who offer Best Odds Guaranteed. The t’s and c’s to these kind of offers can vary, though they do tend to follow a similar pattern. As always, check the t’s and c’s before you bet. To go into more detail, we’ll take a look at Betfred’s Best Odds Guaranteed offer.
Available on UK, Irish and Breeders Cup races, place a bet on a race taking place that day and if the odds lengthen by the time the race starts, you’ll be paid out on the longer odds should your horse win. So, say you place a bet on a horse to win at odds of 4/1 in the morning of a race. By the time the race starts, the odds have lengthened to 9/1. If you’ve met the terms of the offer, and your chosen horse goes on to win, Betfred will pay you out at the longer price.
Free bets can be offered for all sorts of reasons. On many occasions, a bookmaker can reward you with a free bet as part of a sign up offer, for example Betway’s welcome offer of Bet £30 Get £30 in free bets, or as an incentive to bet on a certain market, like a Paddy Power Money Back Special, where if your bet loses you could receive your stake back as a free bet. Bookmakers make these available so to attract new customers into betting with them and to maintain their current customer base.
However, it’s important to realise that free bets are not exactly ‘free’. All come with a set of terms and conditions that must be adhered to, with most requiring you to deposit or bet on selected events and/or odds, meaning you can’t necessarily choose what to bet on in order to claim a free bet.
This goes for ‘risk-free’ bets too. A bookie might offer you the chance of your stake back should you place a bet on a certain event, and call it risk free. However, most of the time the stake you receive back can only be used on selected sports, markets and/or odds. Whilst we’ve discussed terms and conditions frequently throughout this article, it’s for good reason - it’s imperative you read the fine print before you bet.
This depends on the t’s and c’s of your particular bookmaker offer. In our experience, we’ve found that most bookmakers require you to stake your free bet, and any winnings you may make from this bet will become withdrawable, minus your free bet stake. Certainly in recent years, bookmakers rarely offer you a free bet as cash, regardless of whether your free bets have been awarded as part of a new customer offer or as ‘payback’ on a Money Back Special.
Also note that wagering/turnover requirements may be attached to your free bet offer, meaning any winnings that come as a result of using a free bet might not become withdrawable until you’ve placed a certain number of bets or at certain odds.
There are a number of bookmakers who allow you to use a free bet on Multiples. Generally, though, the odds requirement for each leg of an ACCA and/or the total odds of your accumulator are different to those set for Single bets. Some bookmakers offer free bets to be used solely for or as a result of betting on accumulators, like the Boylesports All Sport ACCA Loyalty offer we discussed earlier. However, depending on the t’s and c’s, some free bet offers will only allow you to bet on Singles at particular odds.
The short answer is yes! Most bookmaker betting apps now offer a similar range of promotions and bonus opportunities as available on their desktop site. Many bookmakers offer mobile-only promotions and free bet opportunities too.
Let’s take a look Netbet’s current mobile-only offer - £10 Free Bet on your First Mobile Bet. This offer will award you a £10 free bet once you’ve placed and settled a bet of at least £10 on any sporting event via your mobile device, as long as the odds you bet on are 1.60 or greater. Login to your Netbet account and opt-in to this promo. Once your qualifying bet has been settled, you’ll receive a £10 Free Bet should you meet the specific t’s and c’s.
As we know, there are no ‘surefire’ ways to make profit in any kind of betting. Being able to use a free bet doesn’t mean your bookmaker is allowing you to ensure you make profit, quite the opposite in fact. However, there are strategies you can apply to give yourself a good chance of being successful.
First, as is the case with all forms of betting, knowledge is power. As we’ve seen, many free bet bonuses come with odds requirements or can only be used on selected sports and events, so using your free bet on a sport that you actually know about will give you a better chance of success than if you took a ‘stab-in-the-dark’ on a sport in which you know little.
Secondly, remember that while an offer sounds ‘free’, in reality it isn’t. A Paddy Power Money Back Special might sound appealing, for instance, meaning if your bet loses you’ll get your stake back, but be aware that your ‘free bet’ can only be used on certain sports and markets, at a minimum odds requirement and within a certain period of time.
Thirdly, if you do receive a free bet, don’t see it as free money where you can place it on just any event, even if the odds are extremely long and ‘worth a punt’ however profitable the bet may seem if it comes in. Of course, it hits the betting news when a customer wins thousands off the back of a free bet, but these occurrences are extremely rare. Place it wisely, and you could make a decent profit.
For new customer offers that can award you free bets, you generally need to make a deposit to claim a bonus, and usually within a specific time period. The amount will vary from bookie to bookie, and minimum deposit amounts can apply. Check the new customer t’s and c’s, as any deposits under or over the required amount could result in you being unable to claim your free bet offer. For free bets offered as part of a general existing customer promotions, usually you will need to place a bet in order to qualify.
What’s important to remember when it comes to Free Bets is that they are rarely, if ever, actually ‘free’. Almost always, free bets require you to deposit, to bet or both. This means that whilst a free bet opportunity looks pretty attractive on the surface, you’re still required on most occasions to use your own money to unlock the bonus.
Each free bet offer comes with set terms and conditions, and can be difficult to adhere to if you can’t understand the specifics. Free bets are also only available for a certain period of time, and sometimes can only be used on selected events and/or odds. However, once you’ve understood how your particular free bet offer works, you can use a free bet to your advantage. Make sure, if possible, you use your free bets on a sport you know about or have researched in order to give yourself the best chance of being successful.
