Colombia is the hosting nation of Group B. Virtually playing on the home field gives Los Cafeteros the best chances of finishing among the top teams in the North Zone. Interestingly, the last time Colombia hosted a Copa Americá tournament, they went all the way and won it. Hosting the tournament once again puts them in prime position to repeat the same result.
Unfortunately, this happened exactly 20 years ago. Do they have the strength to replicate their nation’s top footballing success?
With players like Duván Zapata and Luis Muriel up front, James Rodríguez and Juan Cuadrado doing the playmaking, and Davinson Sánchez and Yerry Mina at the back, Colombia has a quality team that, on paper, could at the least reach the finals.
There is not much to say about Brazil that football fans don’t already know. Seleção is a five-time World Champion and a nine-time Copa Americá winner. Additionally, they are coming to the tournament as the defending champions with hopes of repeating the success from Copa Americá 2019.
It could be challenging to predict the team that Seleção enters the tournament with, as more often than not, major stars tend to skip it. However, no matter the players that end up on their roster, you can be sure that Brazil will have the best Copa Americá 2021 Group B winner odds with a high possibility of winning the entire tournament as well.
Qatar is competing in its second Copa Americá tournament in a row. However, just like last time, they are entering it as one of the competition's biggest underdogs.
In 2019, They finished the tournament in the group stage, earning only a single point in the process. Things don't look much better for the Maroons this time around and chances are that the story might repeat itself.
Additionally, all of their players compete in local or Asian teams, making it hard for them to go against the technically-sound and speedy South American teams.
Venezuela is not a footballing powerhouse on the South American continent. They have never won a Copa Americá trophy and the best they have achieved was fourth place back in 2011.
La Vinotinto did make it to the quarterfinals of the last 2019 tournament. Making it out of the group stage is their primary goal this year as well. So if you are thinking about betting on Copa Americá 2021 Group B, you should consider Venezuela as one of the surprise additions to the knockout stage. They just might grab one of the four sports to lead them to the next stage of the tournament.
Ecuador is another team looking for their chances in qualifying for the knockout stage of Copa Americá 2021. Their last tournament was a forgetful one as they were eliminated in the early rounds, earning only a single point. This time, La Tri is entering the competition in much better form and with different ambitions.
Ecuador is currently sitting comfortably in the top of the South American World Cup qualifiers. If they continue in the same manner, making it out of Group B will be easy for them. Their team consists of sturdy veterans and young bucks so anything could happen.
They are definitely one of the favourites to make it out of the North Zone and into the quarterfinals. Maintaining good form and team chemistry might drive them further forward.
Peru was the most pleasant surprise in the previous Copa Americá. They managed to get to the finals, only to lose against the hosts, Brazil, by 3-1. Nevertheless, it was a successful showing for Los Incas and they are hoping for another surprise.
Unfortunately, their Copa Americá 2021 Group B winner odds are not so favourable nor are they tipped to reach the finals anytime soon. They are hopeful in making it out of the group stage and on paper, they are among the teams to do so. If their legendary captain and last tournament's top scorer Paolo Guerrero decides to play, Peru can hope for another upset.
