Coral is one of the leading bookmakers in the UK with a great sports coverage and an impressive focus on Football and Horse Racing. The welcome free bet is an attractive one and can get you on the way to winning money quickly!
The website is well presented, although a little heavy on enhanced specials and promotional adverts. However, if you are looking for offers like this and ways to ‘insure’ your bet then this will appeal to you. For example, the Super Acca insurance has become a popular offering.
They have all the payment methods you could need, an efficient customer support system and live streaming for almost 2,000 sports events per year. Although we do feel they should be clearer on the requirements for the free streaming of sports such as Football and Tennis.

Which sports/leagues can you bet?
Coral offers a really comprehensive selection of sports and betting markets. For a major UK bookmaker, the biggest sports leagues and competitions are a given, but for the more obscure punters out there, you also have access to odds for Speedway and Hurling. They also have a strong section on Gaelic Football, as part of their key focus on the UK and Irish demographic.
To get an idea of the leagues and competitions available per sport, click on them via the left side menu. Coral may have a Live Casino, Slots, Games, Bingo, Poker and Virtuals, but their primary focus is on Coral Sports, which includes the option to bet on each of the following:
- American Football
- Aussie Rules
- Formula 1
- Gaelic Football
- Horse Racing
- Ice Hockey
- Motor Bikes
- Motor Sports
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
- Virtual Sports

Coral's Football focus is shown by its permanent position in the Quick Links section, just above your personal favourites menu and the A-Z Sports list in the left side navigation.
When you navigate to Football, the first thing you will see is the Bet In Play options with a clear indication of those matches which are live now and live later. For each live match you can see the score, time, latest odds and total number of In-Play markets. They even have specific in-play markets such as:
- Next player to score
- Next player to be booked
- Next Corner
- Next Offside
Beneath this Bet In Play section, you can navigate quickly between today's, tomorrow's and future matches. You can also choose to display all matches, outrights, specials, specific leagues, virtual matches or coupons. This coupon focus is a key highlight of the Coral Football offering, whereby you can load up odds for just a specific betting market. For example, you might want a filtered list of all Premier League matches, showing only odds for the Match Result & Both Teams to Score market. The simple Both Teams to Score coupon is also particularly popular on Coral. Coral has Football markets for the following European countries:
- Czech Republic
And the following non European countries:
- South Korea
- United Arab Emirates
Coral Racing and E-sports
Coral is one of the primary bookmakers for horse racing betting, with an impressive website feel, loads of incentives for coming close to winning bets, live streaming coverage and a best price guarantee on all UK & Irish races.
The Best Price Guarantee is becoming more and more popular in the industry, and remains a key part of Coral Racing. They've even taken this a step further by including all Greyhound races within the guarantee.
So if you back any winning horse or greyhound, for any UK & Irish meeting and at any time, Coral will pay out at SP price if those odds are bigger than the price you initially took.
More recently, they have also introduced 'Money back as a free bet if your horse is beaten by a length or less'. They offer this for at least one flat race meeting every day. You can get up to £25 of your stake back as a free bet, which is credited into your account by 12:00 pm the next day. You then get 24 hours to re-stake the free bet.
Coral doesn't always offer up the most competitive day-to-day prices, but they do get their odds up early, lead with a wide selection of Ante Post markets and take on the exchanges by going against certain market principles.
To watch live races, you can go directly to the ‘Live Stream’ tab or click on the icon next to the race. Live streaming for certain sports such as Football and Tennis may be absolutely free, but to watch your chosen horse or greyhound race you must place a qualifying bet of just £1. You can stream via your PC, iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Coral has built in E-Sports to its comprehensive sports menu. It sits between Darts and Football in the A-Z Sports List, and features outright tournament markets and match betting for popular E-Sports games such as League of Legends (LOL) and Counter Strike (CS).
Coral Connect allows you to bet online, in the shop and on your mobile/tablet device using just one account. So for example, you can play online, pick up a winner and collect your winnings from the shop. This gives you instant access to your funds, rather than waiting 2-5 working days for it to be processed back into your bank account.
You can also deposit cash into your Coral account in any of the shops and then play online or on mobile. The maximum cash deposit per day in the shop is £5,500, and the maximum cash withdrawal is £500 per day. You can request additional funds, but this will take up to 48 hours for larger amounts, subject to personal security checks.
Coral In Play
Live betting is a core part of the Coral site, and understandably dominates the top half of the home page. They will invariably be promoting one big upcoming live event in the central position, with an associated special market or insurance bonus.
If you go to the Bet In Play navigation you can get a quick overview of all the Live Events, with the amount that are currently live, alongside upcoming live events and your favourites. You can add to this by using the star icon next to a specific match. This means you can navigate around the site and return to your favourite match quickly.
There are loads of live betting markets across all the sports, and a specific live betting calendar. Inevitably, you will find the most In-Play markets for Football matches, particularly around the biggest European leagues.
Coral offer live streaming, which is becoming almost an essential site feature in a competitive industry. They have a news bar on the homepage of their site which normally includes details of a big sporting event that can be watched via live stream on that day.
You can also click on the video icon next to an event in the match list, or navigate to the Live Stream tab at the top of the page, just to the right of 'Home'. They currently stream almost 2,000 live events every week.
Coral’s live streaming starts a couple of minutes before an event. The site advertises that you can watch Football, Tennis, Rugby, Snooker, Darts, Basketball, Badminton, Handball, Ice Hockey and Volleyball for free. That is not strictly true though, as you do need to have a positive account balance to watch any of them.
For Horse Racing and Greyhound Racing it is slightly different, as you need to place a £1 bet to enable the stream. This allows you to watch your chosen race via PC, iPhone, iPad or Android device. On your desktop you can choose whether to watch the event in a small top right hand window, just under the bet slip, or expand the screen via the 'Pop Out' button.
Coral Cash Out
Coral Cashout is a specific live betting service that gives you greater control of your bets by allowing you take your winnings early or cut your losses. The value of your Cash Out offer will of course be dependent on the context of your In-Play bets and the associated live prices available for your selections.
If your Cash Out offer is in Gold, your bet is in profit. Conversely, if the button is orange, you are being offered a smaller return than your initial stake. On the desktop version, you will see 'Cash out my bet' underneath your bet slip at all times, whereas on mobile you need to navigate to Cash Out via 'My Bets'.
Please note that your bet has not been cashed out until you see a successful cash out message returned. To see which of your bets have been cashed out, go to your account and choose bet history. Select Cashed out from the drop down menu and enter a date range. Your cashed out bets will be marked with an orange dot.
Coral Offers and visibility
In addition to the specials highlighted in the Racing section (see above), Coral have also become well known for their Acca Insurance deals. Previously, this was for accumulators where one selection let you down, and they gave you the stake back as a free bet. But now they have taken this a step further with Super Acca Insurance.
Super Acca Insurance allows you to get 3 selections wrong on your accumulator, and still get your money back. If your accumulator includes 6-8 selections, you can only get one wrong, but if you make more than 11 selections, you can get 3 wrong.
Only accumulators including all selections from the 'Match Result' market will qualify for this promotion. Therefore, popular markets such as Correct Score, First Goalscorer, Over/Under and Both Teams to Score do not qualify.
They have rightly recognised the importance of growing their visibility via Twitter by using clever hashtags, influential tags, interactive videos and humorous updates. It was recently revealed that Coral had the most engaging social media channels during the 2016 Cheltenham Festival.
However, it is important to note that it's not all spoof videos, memes and fun posts. Coral have also reaped the benefits of driving special offers, enhanced odds and free bets over social media.
Coral Website and Mobile
The Coral website is well laid out, and similar to William Hill and Sky Bet in many ways with a promotion heavy set up. However that's not necessarily a bad thing, as there's lots to interest you, including live streaming reminders, insurance offers and best odds guaranteed for Horse Racing and Greyhounds.
They also offer a number of handy features across the top navigation, including a statistics page, results, news, blogs and a Coral radio station providing a daily roundup of sports news and specific Coral updates.
We're also particularly taken by the In-Play favourites functionality, the number of non Football Coral promotions offered, and the 'My Coral' left side navigation, which gives you shortcuts to the pages you've visited most recently on Coral. They also have Quick Links to Horse Racing, Football, Greyhounds and Tennis betting.
The Coral mobile site is easy to navigate, with a similar central focus on promotions and enhanced odds. The home page will give you an overview of In-Play events, streaming options, upcoming events and typically a special bet for the day.
The A-Z sports menu can be dropped down from the top of your screen and includes all the same sports and markets as the desktop version.
You can download the Coral Sports betting app for your iPhone or iPad via the App Store. If you have an android, the app is not available on the Google Play Store, but you can download the mobile application for your device via http://img.coral.co.uk/android/Coral_Mobile.apk.
For Coral customers in the UK, you can call them via 0800 44 0011. If you're playing from outside of the UK you can call them on the following number: +44(0) 208 507 5544.
Live chat is the most popular customer support method in the industry. It is available on Coral, and the service is notably efficient. It is important to note that they prefer you to find your answer via the help page or FAQ's before they provide you with the Live chat link.
This is probably a smart move, particular in peak times where many players will be trying to get in touch. They are simply encouraging you to follow the well thought out, 'breadcrumbs' styled help set up and find your answer before needing to contact an advisor. Opening times for Coral UK are between 07:00 and 23:00.
If you still wish to contact them via email, you can send your query direct to email@example.com. For a quick answer, you should try to include as much helpful information as possible in your email, including your username and screenshots to support your query.
One thing that can be slightly annoying is that when you click on Contact Us, it loads the pop up at the bottom of the page. If you forget to close this, it can appear that the whole site has been faded out from the top. You just have to scroll back down and close the pop out box.
